How to Use Beaver Builder in WordPress
1. Install Beaver Builder plugin
Step 1. Install and activate the Beaver Builder plugin.
- For the free version – Beaver Builder Lite: click on the button Download on the left of the screen and wait for this plugin to download. After that click to activate it.
- For the paid version, you should purchase and get the plugin.
Step 2. Upload the Beaver Builder plugin
In the WordPress Admin Panel, go to Plugins -> Add New -> Upload.
Choose the Beaver Builder Plugin file that you saved on your local system. Be sure that it is the zipped file.
Step 3. Activate the license
If you have the free version, skip this step and move to step 4. On the other hand, if you have a paid version, activate your license to enable remote updates of the plugin.
From your WordPress Admin Panel, go to Settings > Beaver Builder
The Beaver Builder admin panel displays, select the License tab.
In the License section, enter the license key and select Save License Key. This key can be obtained from the management page on Beaver Builder main website (you have to buy a Beaver Builder plugin to get this key). Go to the Settings -> Beaver Builder panel. The Beaver Builder panel has a number of tabs. Let discover them:
The Welcome tab includes:
- First steps in using Beaver Builder
- Links to communities and support
- Summary of changes in the last release plus links to the change log
In the License tab, you enter the premium license key to unlock updates. Also, in this tab, it has the list of products that are included in your license.
As the default setting, all of the built-in modules are in the enable mode, but you can disable some specific ones as you want.
Post Types tab
By default, Beaver Builder plugin is only enabled for Pages. You can enable it to insert layouts into the content areas of single Posts by ticking in the Posts box.
The Templates tab allows you to choose whether to display or hide the standard layout templates (core templates), your custom layout templates (user templates), both or neither.
If you have the Agency version, you can add your own templates to use.
User access tab
You can enable or restrict access to various areas of the Beaver Builder user interface for each of the four WordPress user roles independently: Administrator, Editor, Author, or Contributor.
Beaver Builder provides Font Awesome, Foundation, and WordPress Dashicons icon sets. Also, you can add your own icon sets from Icomoon or Fontello.
Branding tab (Agency version only)
In the Branding tab, you can change the name of the Beaver Builder plugin as it appears in the user interface.
Help Button tab (Agency version only)
Help button tab is where you can customize what your clients see when they click Help.
The Tools tab contain 4 sections:

3. Creating A Custom Page Layout With Beaver Builder Plugin in WordPress
Step 1. Visit Pages -> Add New.
Then, a new Page Builder tab will appear in the WordPress editor.
Step 2: Click on the Page Builder tab to launch the Beaver Builder.
After that, click on the (+) button in the top menu. There will be a list of modules to add.
Step 3: Choose a template for your page layout in Beaver Builder
Beaver Builder plugin has many professionally designed templates for you to choose from. After choosing a template, you can create a new page layout in WordPress right away. Besides, you can customize the template as much as you want. When you select a layout, it will load it in the preview window. So you can take your mouse to an item and see the highlight before choosing it.
Step 4: Edit layout in Beaver Builder plugin
Beaver Builder shows a popup with different settings that you can edit. You can change text, color, font, background, margin, padding, margin, etc.
The layouts in Beaver Builder are based on rows. You can drag and drop to rearrange rows, add a new row or remove it. Admins can simply click on the Row Layouts tab and then select the number of columns you want to add in your row.
Step 5: Adding a row to your page layout in Beaver Builder
When you add the row in the Beaver Builder, it allows you to see the live preview on your site. In addition, you can add items like buttons, headings, text, images, slideshows, audio, video, etc to your row by using the basic or advanced modules and widgets. Furthermore, you can select an item and drag it to the row you’ve added and then click on the item to edit its properties. It also allows you to save a row or a module to reuse later. After that, click on Save as button while you edit a row or module to save it.
Step 6: Click on the Done button when you are finished editing your page.
Beaver Builder will show a popup with choices to publish, to discard or save your page as a draft.
Also, users can save the page they have created as a template, or quickly create a duplicate page with the same layout.
