Thank you for using Bayn theme for your website. We hope you like it! In this documentation, we will show you how to install and setup the basic demo for your website. This takes you only 5 minutes to have the website ready!

After installing the theme, you also need to install the Jetpack plugin. Go to the Dashboard → Plugins → Add New. You will see Jetpack is listed there. Click Install Now button to install it. Then click Activate button to activate the plugin.

You also need to connect to WordPress.com to start using it. Simply click the green button on the top right that says Connect to WordPress.com. Login with your WordPress.com account (or create one) and click Authorize Jetpack.

#Setting up your front page

When you first activate Bayn, your homepage will display posts in a traditional blog format. To set up your homepage, follow these steps:

  1. Create a page.
  2. Go to the Customizer's Static Front Page panel and set Front page displays to A static page.
  3. Select the page you created in step one as the Front page, and, if you plan to have a blog as well, choose another page as the Posts page to display your blog posts.

#Front page sections

Featured Slider

First, create some projects and tag them with the same tag. We often use the featured tag, but you can use any tag you want. Don't forget to add featured image. It's used as the slide image.

Then go to Customize → Featured Content and add the featured tag in the Tag name box. Save changes and you will see those projects are displayed in the featured slider on the homepage.

If you don't see Featured Content section in the Customizer, please install the Jetpack plugin. See the Installation section above.

Features Section

The Features section displays the title and content of the front page. It's a good place to show what your business is about. Simply add content to the front page to display it here.

Services Section

The Services section displays a list (four) of your services. Each service is a page. Go to the admin area and create 4 pages. Then go to Customize → Theme Options and choose them for the services section.

Recent Work Section

This section shows the latest six projects from your portfolio. To create new a Portfolio project, go to Portfolio → Add New, add a new project title and the desired content, and set the Featured Image. Be sure to add Project Types too.

To edit the section title, go to Customize → Theme Options → Portfolio section title.

Contact Section

This section displays the contact information and contact form. To make the contact form appears, you first need to create a contact page. Go to Pages → Add New to create a page. Then insert the contact form (by Jetpack) into the page content.

After that, go to Customize → Theme Options, you can change the contact section title, contact info and select the contact page created above.

#Footer

Bayn includes one optional widget area in the footer. To add widgets to the footer, go to Customize → Widgets → Footer. The widgets will be arranged in up to four columns automatically.

#Customization

We recommend using a child theme to customize the theme. Here is the guide how to do that.

In addition, you can customize the theme CSS using Custom CSS by going to Customizer → Additional CSS.

If you want to customize the fonts, we have a powerful and easy-to-use plugin that can help you do that.

We hope you live Bayn. If you have any question, please send us a support ticket.
